Can't connect internet

So currently , I just finished building my first PC. I've managed the wires, I've messed around with some BIOS settings to my likings and even put a bit of lights in the case. Now all I've got to do is connect to the internet, obviously so that I can play some games. However, I'm trying to connect and my PC displays that there are no connection options. I'm currently sending out a search from my ROUTER to my PC however it says "This connection requires and active internet connection."

Help please, not sure what some of this means.

Sorry for the confusion on no network connections, just ignore that little bit and focus on the "active internet connection" part.

Have you installed the LAN driver for the motherboard?

Would I do so by placing the disc that came with the MOBO into the Optical Drive and allowing it to install?

On that CD is the LAN driver. As well as a bunch of others.
Don't let it install everything, but only install the drivers you need.
Quite often, there is a bunch of extra junk on those disks that you do not want.
