Hello,

I've been having a hard time connecting my computer to the TV using Miracast.

The "Device can't connect" error just pops again and again.

I've tried updating all my drivers, the TV firmware, resetting my firewall, but to no avail.

I've enabled every option related to streaming, fully removed the firewall

I've managed to connect my phone (android) on the TV so it somewhat works, just not with my computer.

Here are my specs
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18363) (18362.19h1_release.190318-1202)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING
BIOS: F2 (type: UEFI)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor (16 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16328MB RAM
Page File: 13025MB used, 9191MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
Miracast: Available, with HDCP
Microsoft Graphics Hybrid: Not Supported
DirectX Database Version: Unknown
DxDiag Version: 10.00.18362.0387 64bit Unicode

I'm using Ethernet mostly but I bought a WiFi dongle in order to use Miracast.

I can see the TV whenever I try to connect but I just can't add the device. it always stops before.

If you guys have any ideas, i'm all ears

Thanks

What brand and model TV are you using? These instructions are for Sony:

I'm not an expert but as an experiment you could try turning off your phone before trying to connect to your computer. It may be that the TV is automatically trying to connect with your phone or tablet and that might be blocking other devices.

Also check that your computer and TV are Mirracast enabled. Are you sure you mean Mirracast and not wifi direct or some other system? Mirrracast doesn't use the internet or networked wifi. Like bluetooth, it has a direct wireless connection with a specific device.

If Mirracast will not work, you could use another system to connect your devices.

Kind regards
Chris
