Can't connect Sound bar to TV

I have a 40" Samsung LED 3D TV . It doesn't have optical as well as HDMI ARC output . I want to connect my Sony sound bar which is having optical and HDMI input to connect to TV . I want to connect it to hear Set up box audio . My TV is having an aux output . Will it work if I buy a Optical to 3.5mm jack to connect it with TV ? Please need help !

Without model numbers we can't give you an exact answer.
If the Set top box has an optical audio output then connect that to the soundbar.
If the TV does have an analog audio output then you could use an analog to digital converter box.

I don't exactly . But I'll tell ASAP . And the main problem is the set top box doesn't have an optical out . But there is an optical out in other dth companies' set top boxes.
