I just upgraded my internet at home which requires me to use the 5GHz band as I can't reach the desired speeds on 2.4GHz. I only had 2.4 GHz PC adapters home so I bought a TP-Link Archer T2UH. I can see the 5GHz network with the adapter but I can't connect to it. I try typing the password in and it says verifying and connecting and after 10ish seconds "can't connect to this network" comes up and that's it.
I tried changing my modem's wireless mode, channel and channel width but none of it fixed the problem. I contacted TP-Link support and they tried to help me out with some other version of their driver but that didn't help either. I've done everything correctly when it comes to driver installation.
I managed to connect to the 5GHz network with my phone, so I thought something could be wrong with the adapter or its drivers. I went and bought a second adapter this time from Netgear AC1200 A6210. Tried the same things out with that adapter as well and the exact same issue was there.
Then I realized I can turn on my phone's hotspot which was also working on 5GHz. Both adapters managed to connect to my phone's network without a problem so I ruled out that the adapters could be at fault.
Called my ISP and asked and they basically said "since you can connect to your 5GHz network with your phone the issue is not on our side".
Any suggestions as to how I could resolve this?
