Question Can't connect to game servers when my own server is running?

I know many of you probably don't know DayZ, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't matter which game it is. I recently tried to make my own local server in this game (DayZ Standalone), i've port forwarded and all that, but when i run it, i can't connect to any dayz servers at all, not even my own, and not even through LAN. When i shut the server down, i can suddenly join any server again.

My immediate thought is an IP address problem. Duplicate IP address most likely.

Sketch out your network, include all connected devices.

Then look at the assigned IP addresses: DHCP and static for each device.

Your port forwarding rule is likely only looking at the port. It should check dest ip (yours) : port

What is probably happening is you are trying to connect to that port and the router sends it back to your server.

I also have this problem and I wonder if I download VPN and go to other servers from another IP will it give any result.
