cant connect to my second router which is cisco

so i have verizon router as my main router and my cisco as my second router in my room
so at the time everything was working just fine when i found out my signals and and my router setting were off so i did a few changes turn off dchp also made my second router ip changed then out of no where i could not connect unless i use the main wire to pc

i am not sure what setting i changed to make me have no internet
by the way i have the WRT54Gs2 V1 model cisco

i need some help here i used command prom and still noting

I would recommend doing a factory reset, then configuring your 2nd router as an access point only (no DHCP, etc.). You will also need to configure a static IP for the second router, and then manually set the router to that IP (you will need to reserve the IP address by MAC address on the Verizon Router).

ok so i did factory reset like 7 times
i also changed the ip address to 192.168.1.2 then when i did that so what else i needed to do? give the router a mac address to the 1st router?
not sure if i am getting anything right from wat ur saying

On the Verizon router, you need to reserve an IP address for your 2nd router. There should be a place for you to enter the MAC address of your 2nd router and the IP address you have the 2nd router set to.

ok heres the weird part so all the information was alraady on my verizon router

i did a diagnostics and it says ethernet doesnt have a valid ip config

Assuming your Verizon router is 192.168.0.1, you should setup the 2nd router to be 192.168.0.2. (if it is 192.168.1.1, set it to be 192.168.1.2).

Did you setup the SSID of your "Cisco" router to be different from the main router? Are they enabled, and have WPA/WPA2 encryption enabled?

the ssid i did but the enabled for the wpa wpa2 i dont think i did
theres one problem i notice for some reason i get kick out of the router login and cant log back in and when i try to see whats going on the ip address changes from 192.168.1.2 to 164.254.84 idk y it does this not to mention i cant seem to rest the router...kinda getting me mad

When that is happening - your router is disconnected from the main router.

First thing you need to do - get the MAC address of the router - write it down. Go to the main router, and create an IP address reservervation for the router as 192.168.1.2. Then reset the IP address of the router to that IP address.

the thing is my main router had all the info including mac address already
and i also tried reseting my 2ed router and for some reason it doesnt want to reset

should i del the info of the main router and re enter it ?

It is usually the easiest way to troubleshoot. Put them back to factory default and relaunch.
