Hi guys, I am going to buy an external harddrive for backup purpose.
These are my choices:

http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/297022/buffalo-drivestation-%28hd-lxu3%29-2tb-zwart/specificaties/

I wonder if usb 3.0 might bottleneck 7200rpm and if 7200rpm is ideal to store backups at all.

Which would you recommend and why?
Thanks for help :).

Solution
i think you should get the seagate barracuda (i have one myself)
it works fine i use it to store back ups and some other data
i have had it for a few months and it still works like new

7200rpm hdd will not bottleneck usb3. unless you are using an ssd in an enclosure then it might but is unlikely.

im using a lacie 3tb external hdd for backups and am getting the same write speed in backups as an internal hdd while running from bootcd
