Im going for a high end gaming build, which I MAY do things such as render 3D models and animations/videos. I have come down to the Intel i7 4770k and 4960x.
Ive looked around and have seen the 4960x get better frames for games and rendering, but in other reviews the 4770k had a massive gain in frames against the 4960x. Im not THAT tech savy but Im learning more as I go. For a GPU Im going with EVGA GeForce GTX TITAN BLACK Superclocked Signature 6GB edition. I have no budget limit so any suggestions are welcome.

Solution
The 4770k and soon to be released 4790k have the best single core performance of any cpu at any price so they'd be better in some things. The 4960x is way overpriced, and should not even be considered IMO. The 4930k on the other hand, is a very good option if you think you need 6 cores and 12 threads. The 4930k is half the price of the 4960x and it is 90% as good. I wouldn't get a Titan Black unless you just NEED 6GB vram.

Also the CUDA count, TITAN / 780 / 780 Ti.......respectively 2688 / 2304 / 2880, also the TMUS respectively 224 / 192 / 240. The stock boost clocks are 876 / 900 / 928.

It's true the stock 780 is clocked faster than a TITAN, yet the TITAN is a stronger card and will out perform it even at slower clocks, the 780Ti is the only GK110 that is fully enabled in this area yet FP is crippled compaired to the TITAN Black.

I would guess a pair of 770s would walk away from a Black also...
