Can't decide on a HDD

I was looking at Western Digital cards and I narrowed my needs to something that is 7200 RPM and with SATA 6.0 GB/s interface. I was initially looking for something that is 1TB and either a blue or black series. When comparing drives, the prices were different but there was no noticeable difference in specs. Then I changed my selection to have between 1TB or 3TB. Here is the list I am looking at. I found that there was a 3TB drive for ~164 and I once again, I am questioning why is this item less expensive than this item that looks less superior? In this case, a 1TB card was more expensive than a 3TB card. Given that most of the 1TB cards are less then $100, why is one $209?

So besides it's interface and RPMs, what is something else to look at to help my decision?

Thanks!

That one is 209 because that's what the seller chooses to sell it for on Newegg. If you scroll down 3, you will see a 1TB black for $75.

As for the differences,

Blue-basic consumer level all around drive. 2 year warranty.
green-low power, various rpm eco drives. crap in my opinion.
red-good for NAS system. something where you won't write much, but read lots, like a media server. you copy a movie once, but 20 people watch it 3 times each.
purple-good for security systems. made more for lots of writes, but little reads. you record new video every day 24/7 but rarely ever read it unless you've been robbed.

black-best overall drive and 5 year full warranty, hence the extra cost.

i have a WD Green. it's big but i hate it. it "stops" on its own too frequently and when watching a movie or a series of video clips, i get pauses as the drive has to spin back up. annoying as f___

i have a WD Red. overpriced, but silent and has pretty good read/write performance. all of my Steam games are on it.

i have two WD Black (2.5") as well. disappointing. they're 7200rpm but benchmarking them against a 5900rpm WD Red shows that the Red is 10-25% faster across the board. maybe the 3.5" Black are different.

i have two Seagate 3TB drives (ST3000DM001), they're fast and silent and cheap. i love them. i bought 4 of the 1TB versions for an office server.

Thanks for that, I never knew items on Newegg could be sold by other sellers. No wonder the price difference.
