I'm having a stressful time trying to decide on what motherboard I should buy for my build!
This is my first time building PC, so I've spent a lot of time during the past few weeks researching PC builds, components, what components work together, what specs are adequate in running certain games and programs. I feel as though I have begun to grasp the ins and outs of the whole process of building a PC. I've even gotten most of my parts picked out. They are:
------
CPU- AMD Ryzen 7 1700
CPU cooler- Wraith spire cooler (comes with Ryzen 7)
MOBO- ???
Memory- G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage-SanDisk - SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5"
-Western Digital - Blue 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU- EVGA Geforce GTX560 Ti (got it used from my brother. I will use it until I can afford a better
gpu in a few months).
Case- Corsair Air 540
PSU- Corsair - TXM Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical drive - LG - UH12NS40 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer
------
I'm impartial to the RAM I have picked out; I'm hoping that picking the motherboard will assist with the selection of the RAM a tad bit.
I will be using this PC for school, which will consist of 3D animation and 3D modeling software such as, Maya, Mudbox Zbrush, and other editing software such as Photoshop, Aftereffects, Premier. I will also be gaming on this pc as well.
I have been looking at Mobo's such as Msi's B350 tomahawk, and a few X370 boards, but I can't make the final decision on one. The other parts of the build seemed more cut and dry. I also don't know anything about overclocking, but I think I might try it. Also, I have no interest in SLI, so I have been leaning towards B350 mobo's. I'm just worried about getting one DOA; lots of reviews for different mobos I have read have claimed they gotten useless boards.
Thanks for any advice you may have!
