So I'm looking to upgrade my monitor. Currently I have a Asus VS238 23" monitor. I have never been super pleased with it, but now that I'm used to it it's okay I guess. I also use a 32" Insignia NS-32l550A11 tv as a secondary monitor to watch movies on. That tv is dying though very slowly. It has stripes down left side of the screen and some other weird issues until after it has been on for a long time, and even then still sometimes the lines don't go away. Not a HUGE deal cause they are dark and you can't usually see them from across the room but when I use it as a monitor it is annoying.
Anyways I was debating what to get for a new monitor. I would like a new one for gaming and movies. I'm not a FPS gamer so I don't think I require a TN for the 1ms response times. A 4 or 5ms gtg is probably just fine for someone like me. Most games I play are along the lines of diablo and warcraft and sc2 and skyrim, games like those. ANd the
I was debating getting 1 nice monitor, or maybe even just a hdtv because I don't do a TON of reading anymore and een if i did I would still be able to use this 23" for reading as a secondary monitor I suppose, but again I'm torn on what to get.
Here are the different monitors I was looking at. Maybe you guys know of others that are comparable or better. Again I want the best image I can get (i think IPS is the panel type i would want then?) I'm more of a visual gamer than a competitive one graphics say a lot to me, I'm not into competitive sc2 or fps game play, I want a beautiful image to stare at lol.
BenQ BL3200PT 32" IPS LED Backlit
SAMSUNG S32D850T Black 32" LED Backlit
ASUS PB328Q Black 32" 4ms LED Backlit
Samsung 42" LED TV 1080p
edit: the 42" samsung has a 27ms from what i can see on other forums
Not sure which one of these would give the best experience. My budget is about $550. Thanks in advance for your input.
