Can't delete a file

Hey guys I'm using Win 7 64 bit, when I'm trying to delete a file off my external HD I get this message
Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

boot your system with safe mode and then delete the file.

Run a error check on the drive, right click in in my computer and go to the tools tab, error check. Check both check boxes.
