Question Cant disconnect empty ssd

hey, ive got 2 sdds and i would like to take one . i tried to find out which disk has windows on it by plugging out and see if it boots. when i plugged out the first disk is had the windows on it cuz it couldnt boot . when i plugged the second one out it asked for a repair.
seems like windows uses both, any help?

I suspect that when you installed windows to the boot drive, the other was also installed ? If so then you are correct, that windows uses both drives to boot your system. I suggest that you save all your data on one drive, usually the older, slower drive, but whichever is more convenient, disconnect that drive, and install windows again on the other/newer/faster one.You will then have a boot drive and a storage drive with "old" windows files , part of the previous OS, which may be deleted for extra space. By the time this finishes you will know which drive is which.
