Can't download windows 7 from usb

In BIOS I turned off the secure boot option and selected the flash drive I wanted to use to install windows 7 from but when I save and quit. My computer restarts and gets stuck on a black screen with a blinking space symbol. I waited half an hour and it was still like this.
Any ideas on how to install windows 7 on a custom built pc.

Make sure you go into the boot options and set the USB stick as the first one.

When you've installed Windows 7 set that option back to your HDD.

Make sure you use the USB in a 2.0 port not a 3.0 (blue usb port)
