I looked everywhere on the forums but I still can't solve my problem of a dual monitor setup. My windows 10 cannot recognize the monitor when plugged into my motherboard. My main monitor is currently plugged into my GPU and they other monitor is plugged into my motherboard DVI slot.

Specs
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-H170-Gaming 3

You need to have the motherboard graphics adapter active also.
Some motherboards will, by default disable the integrated adapter if they detect a discrete graphics adapter.
Actually, why not just attach both to the discrete card?
A side monitor will not hurt performance while gaming on the main monitor.

Your card itself supports up to 4 monitors and has: One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One mini-HDMI.
Settings in Bios determine output from the iGPU. check this and set to auto. If that is what you wish to use.
Check you cabling for correct compatibility to your monitor.

The SC version of GTX 750 Ti has DVI-I, HDMI, DisplayPort connections.

Go into your Bios>Peripherals>Initial Display Output.

Here you have:
IGFX Sets the onboard graphics as the first display.
PCIe 1 Slot Sets the graphics card on the PCIEX16 slot as the first display. (Default)
PCIe 2 Slot Sets the graphics card on the PCIEX4 slot as the first display.

What input connections does the monitor have.? List the monitor.

My GPU only has a VGA port its the small one with no PCIe connector requeired. The main monitor i use is the asus vg248qe its a vga port, but im trying to use an old monitor that i know works as a second display

I don't think you are understanding correctly Exgin.

Your VG248QE has DisplayPort, Dual-link DVI-D, and HDMI ports.
Your GPU is GTX 750 Ti and has DVI-I, HDMI, DisplayPort connections.

I don't know what your monitor has, as you have not listed the Model.?

PCIe is the slot on the MB that the GPU is slotted into on your: GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-H170-Gaming 3

My monitor the ASUS VG248QE works fine its plugged into the DVI port (sorry), but the monitor i want to dual screen with doesn't have a HDMI port sorry for the confusion so thats why I have to plug it into the motherboard
