I have a ryzen 5 2400g installed on a msi b450 tomahawk motherboard connected to a aoc g2460pf 144hz monitor through a dvi-d dual link cable and I have tried to enable 144hz in Windows and in the readeon settings but it won't work, the highest refresh rate I can put it to is 60hz. I have tried with a hdim 1.4 cable to but I can't go higher than 60hz either way. Am I missing something? What should I do? Is there any way to get freesync using this motherboard and monitor?

Solution
Most motherboards only have Single-Link DVI, not Dual-Link.

You can use HDMI up to 120 Hz on that monitor. You will have to set a custom resolution for any formats above 60 Hz to appear though. (see section 6.3 here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3675170/connect-120-display-construction.html)

That monitor only supports FreeSync over DisplayPort, so if your motherboard does not have DisplayPort then there is no way to use FreeSync with that monitor until you get a graphics card.

My little brother has a 2200g rig and runs a aoc g2260VWQ6 monitor at it's highest refresh rate of 75hz so I know that integrated graphics can do over 60hz. That means I should at least be able to that 75hz refresh rate but I don't :(

My motherboard doesn't have a displayport connector sadly
