Hello. I was just reading about my TV. Here's a link to it http://www.sceptre.com/overview-371.html
I saw how it can display 1.07 billion colors. That sounds like HDR to me but I called sceptre and asked if my TV has HDR and they said none of their TVs have HDR. My question is how can I make it display all the 1.07 billion colors? How can I tell if it's doing it or not? Does 8 bit color + FRC equate to 10 bit color or something similar to that? I read about how FRC flickers between different colors to produce colors that regular 8 bit TVs can't display. It tricks your brain into seeing the extra color even though in reality it's just flickering really fast between different colors to produce the colors in your mind. I also read that 8 bit + FRC is better than regular 8 bit color but not quite as good as true 10 bit. I would just like to actually be able to tell if it's doing it or not. As of now I just can't tell. Is there some way I can enable HDR since it looks like it is capable of accepting a 10 bit signal and displaying it semi correctly?
I've been googling for hours and I can't figure this out. Not yet anyway. I usually am able to solve my own problems but it's never a bad idea to ask for help.
