Can't enter BIOS after setting admin password

I got a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 - 7537 running Windows 8.1) and, as is my custom with new computers, set an admin password in the BIOS settings. Now, I can't access those settings at all, it doesn't even prompt me for the password. I boot it up, in the corner I see "F2: Setup and F12: Boot Menu", I press F2, the "F2: Setup" text lights up, the screen flickers as if it's trying to enter BIOS mode, then it changes its mind and boots as normal.

I've tried draining the battery to below 10%, same thing happens; it tries and fails. The computer doesn't support UEFI, so I can't do it from the Windows 8 settings, and I tried pressing F12 to access the boot menu instead; again, same thing happened. I've also tried various combination of holding F2, tapping it, pressing function or delete at the same time... none of that worked.

Any ideas?

Hi

Most dell laptops don't store passwords in CMOS , removing main & CMOS battery does not work

J expects a prompt for password when he try's to enter the bios

I am surprised any new win 8 PC does not have a uefi bios

As it is a new PC contact dell tech support for advice

Setting admin password on dell does not protect PC against unauthorised use only against changing bios settings and as a back door if the power on password is lost

dell techs have a boot cd which can erase the admin password
Maybe it's a boot USB nowadays

I did not mean to offend anyone, just topic sounds like a gray area, so at the end, Dell support is the best solution, peace.
