I started getting BSOD at random times when ever I play virtual reality games. It's always the same BSOD, DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. I've been trying to fix it for a while now and have analyzed the windows dump files to find that usbxhci.sys is the thing having issues. I can't seem to find much online pertaining to the issue and I need help fixing it please.

Here's the latest dump file

Hi, I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/wem92gon/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

File information:091321-8265-01.dmp (Sep 13 2021 - 23:15:19)
Bugcheck:DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133)
Driver warnings:*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nika6usb.sys
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: System)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 10 Hour(s), 53 Min(s), and 55 Sec(s)

Possible Motherboard page: https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-B550-TOMAHAWK
There is a BIOS update available for your system. I recommend avoiding Beta versions of a BIOS. So the latest stable version is A.7. Wait for additional information before deciding to update or not. Important: Verify that I have linked to the correct motherboard. Updating your BIOS can be risky. Never try it when you might lose power (lightning storms, recent power outages, etc).

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

Before I posted this question, I had read another question someone else had asked almost exactly two years ago. It was from the user leo.schumacher37.

Colif said that nika6usb.sys was the reason the PC kept crashing. Do you think that I have the same issue? I forgot to mention earlier, because I forgot about it, that I have a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 plugged into the usb as well. The guy having the problem said that his PC would bluescreen if his audio interface was plugged into certain USB ports on his laptop because of some conflict with the GPU or something. The solution he posted said that he had to manually update the ASMedia XHCI driver because windows update did not. Do you think I have the same issue?

Good guessing, I said DPC were audio and I asked about USB. Its both

not that Colif guy again, troublemaker :)

You don't have Asmedia USB drivers. So that solution won't help

Apr 01 2015nika6audio.sysNative Instruments Komplete Audio driver
Apr 01 2015nika6usb.sysNative Instruments Komplete Audio USB driver

So I assume there aren't newer drivers?

I guess you have Komplete Audio 6 Mk 1, Mk2 was released last year - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/
wonder what difference is?

AMD drivers could help but USB drivers are built into windows and there aren't any on the MAG site as I knew there wouldn't be

There aren't any new drivers for the Komplete Audio 6, and yes I have the MK1. I'm going to try a couple of things this weekend to see if it makes any difference. First, I am going to try making sure that the Komplete Audio 6 is in a proper USB port. The manual online says for it to be plugged into a USB 2.0 so I am going to try that. If it is already in a USB 2.0 then I will try a USB 3.0 port and then run my VR games to see if I still get that bluescreen. I am going to try that because some people had an issue with their computer getting a BSOD from the audio interface being in the wrong USB port. If that doesn't work, then I am going to try uninstalling the Komplete Audio 6 drivers and unplug it from the system and run the VR games. Hopefully those two tests will provide some extra insight on what the final solution will have to be.

I doubt the beta bios would help in this case, I know there was an AMD USB problem but I don't think it applies to B550 boards. Its meant to be fixed now. Mainly effects people with lots of USB.
So it seems that the audio interface's drivers are most definitely the issue. Plugging it into the proper USB port did nothing. So I uninstalled the audio interface drivers by using the same method to install them (driver setup exe file) and unplugged the device. I went to check if the nika6usb.sys still existed in the driver folder in System32 after uninstalling, but it was still there? Both the nika6usb.sys and nika6audio.sys were still there I believe when I checked. Is there anyway I can remove the driver files after I uninstall the device? Or does it not matter because the drivers aren't in use because the device and it's software were removed?
