Question Cant figure out how to set up my laptop as a secondary monitor.

I have my primary monitor connected to my graphics card (which is a GTX 1660 Ti) through a DVI-D cable. Unfortunately my monitors only other video source is VGI. My laptop has both HDMI and VGI ports. Im not 100% sure how to go about connecting them. I've tried a few things and they haven't worked. Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.

What is it you're trying to do?

Your title suggests using the laptop as a secondary display? Laptops don't typically have a display "in".
Given this is a laptop that still has VGA, you're not using Thunderbolt, so I don't believe this can be done.

How are you connecting the 1660TI? Is it to the laptop?

Mostly, you can't.
Very very few laptops have an IN for video.
