Hi!

I'm currently building an electronic device, and I have the following AC AC Wall mount adapter:

No matter where I look I can't find a 2.1mm female barrel plug that uses AC to connect to. Mind you, I'm completely inept at electronics, so I might be overlooking something here. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, and as a side note I'm from Canada, so as long as it ships there it's good!

Thank you!

Not sure about what you are doing (i.e., the design) but I doubt that the plug will care which way the electrons are going.

Cut the desired 2.1mm barrel plug and a length of accompanying wire off of a DC adapter.

Cut the plug off of an AC adapter with an unacceptable (not 2.1 mm) barrel plug.

Splice in the in the acceptable DC 2.1mm barrel plug and wire into the wire from the AC adapter wire.

In building a custom device, you first design the thing, and then find a wall plug that is compatible.

Not the other way around.
I am aware of that, but I am working with a very specific parts list (since the design's not mine), and unfortunately that left me with only one option currently available for a power supply. Otherwise yes, I would most definitely have selected another PSU.

Design's not mine, I am merely building it. But fair enough, thanks for the tip!

If this was already laid out in a design, there were no specifications about the power supply to use with it? Seems a bit odd for someone to have a design for a device then not tell people how to power it.
