Can't Find 5GHz Network With 802.11ac Network Card

I just got the TP-Link Archer T6E which is a dual band Wi-Fi adapter. I installed the drivers from TP-Link's website but when I go to search for Wi-Fi networks I can only see 2.4GHz networks.

Do you have a 5GHz capable ROUTER with the 5GHz wi-fi enabled in the settings?

I am having the same problem. I just got a Linksys AE6000 802.11ac USB network adapter for my desktop computer, but it is unable to see the 5GHz signal from my Cisco DPC3941T router. My cellphone is able to see and connect with the 5GHz signal. I have made sure that the Linksys has the most current drivers installed. Any solutions to this issue would be greatly appreciated!

What channel are you using on the 5g?

that TP link card has a selectable band feature. make sure you are using the 5Ghz band via software.
