Ok, so i rebuilt my system about a year ago, and for a while it was great, didn't have any issues or anything. More recently i have been having some weird things come up. A lot of games I used to be able to run wouldn't start, and others would start but crash after 20-30 min. (verified all game files)

I have obviously checked for viruses and there are none. I re-installed my graphics drivers, no change. I have ran a memory and disk check with no issues, updated all of the stupid little windows updates and still nothing. My worry is that it may be the graphics card (which doesn't make sense since some games work just fine for hours on end) or the power supply, but I'm not sure how to accurately check them.

Specs:
Amd fx 8350
Xfx dd radeon r9 290
16 GB PNY 2400 Ram
Thortech 650 watt psu
180 gb intel 530 ssd and 1 tb western digital 7200 rpm hdd
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard

4.0 GHZ, I have not turned off Turbo Cores but I have unlocked the cores. It was working with the setting I have for the last year until a month ago..

I swapped the GPU to another build i have and it runs everything fine, so its not that. I have had the PSU for two years without a single issue, I know it is not the best, but is this the way that is would be showing issues?

Possible if its not giving enough power to the GPU it cant perform better
