After switching on my first newly built PC which contains the Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 motherboard, I installed the drivers that came on the disk. However, I have no internet connection as i find there is no ethernet controller driver installed. After looking online on my old pc for the appropriate driver using Gigabyte's website, the only driver i could find that seemed slightly relevant was the BigFoot LAN Driver. Unfortunately, this was not the appropriate driver. If anyone could give further help that would be much appreciated. My OS is windows 8.1.

And i then select "Download Type" - driver and "Choose Your OS" - Windows 8.1 64 bit and i see a list of 7 downloadable drivers: 1 for audio, 2 for CHipset, 1 for LAN, 2 for SATA RAID/AHCI and 1 for VGA. I downloaded the for under LAN as it seemed most relevant to an ethernet controller driver, however this does not contain the appropriate drivers. I've been stuck with this for a while now however I feel i'm a few clicks away from the solutions. Apologies to my lack of knowledge in the area, but any further help to lead me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Then am I trying to install the driver correctly? I go to Device Manager - Other Devices - Ethernet Controller - Properties - Driver - Update Driver - Browse for Driver Software. I then select the folder on my desktop containing the BigFoot LAN driver and it says "Windows was unable to install your Ethernet Controller". Am i doing this wrong? if not i will contact gigabyte.
