Cant find external hard drive

I have a wd external hard drive that i have had hooked up to my computer. One day i rearranged my computer area and when i hooked up the external hard drive my computer would no longer come up for me. The drive acts like it is working, but i can no longer find it on the computer

check cables both on the external drive as well as the usb port on the computer. try a different usb port on the computer.
