Can't find heatsyncs for VRM on my HIS 7950

The cooling on my HIS 7950 is pretty pathetic to say the least, here is a picture:

I have since added 2X 120mm fans onto it, and I want to add heatsyncs to the VRM. I can't seem to find any that are small enough to fit on those little guys.

Anyone know of a cooling solution for VRMs? They're so tiny...

Yes, it is the very lame red and black version with only the GPU having a heatsync on it 🙁 Ya, see those are good size for the RAM. I can find those no problem. It's the VRM that I can't find heatsyncs for.

just don't overclock the memory and just the fan air will be enough to cool them in most cases.

If you are really worried about cooling, then you might want to look at a better cooling solution in general that has heatsinks included for the memory or a cooler that contacts the memory (accelero and gellid make some)

you can always just stick them on vrms/mosfets, they should be small enough for the cover to clear and help cool them a little, I would still probably keep the shroud off and run 2 120s on it though even though it may look bad.

I've used that type of memory heatsink with great success in the past, if you look around you'll probably find the older Zalman or Enzotech items still available, although it depends on where you live.
One word of caution: use good, strong thermal tape or adhesive, I nearly fried my 6950 a couple of years ago when I did a similar mod and one of those little darlings fell off! Luckily the VRM overheat caused severe artifacting before any damage was done.

With the heatsinks that were posted, you would be able to fit them on all the ram, and then you could fit 1 heatsink per 2vrms. anything will be better than just the stock passive airflow over them.

also buy a thermal glue and a thermal paste, then mix them 50/50. this will provide good solid contact and hold as strong as you'd ever need, but also allows you to remove them without actually damaging the card (put card in a plastic bag, then put in freezer and they will just come right off with no damage done to the card, but make sure to let the card dry for at least 6 hours after taking out of freezer) This is not a troll move, this is what i did with my 680 after i changed the stock cooler to the accelero hybrid cooler. with the cooler on it ran SUPER cool, but the guy that was buying it from me did not have the space for the watercooler that is attatched to the cooler, so i had to reapply the stock cooler for him.

haha don't you dare, but it works like a charm and causes no damage. not to mention temps are better when mixed with a quality thermal paste as opposed to using just thermal adhesive

Last night I added 2X 120mm fans to quiet down the card and try to beef up the cooling.

Now I just need some heatsinks for everything.

they also come with preapplied thermal pads, so no need to buy thermal adhesive, though you will be able to determine for yourself how sticky they actually are, and if it would be wise to just buy some thermal adhesive and thermal paste
