Can't find installed software

Running an HP i7 with Windows 7. I recently download two pieces of software off the Internet. Inkscape and ColdTurkey. Both went through the full installation process no problem. I clicked Finish and thought it should be there. In both cases, I cannot find the program on the computer. I've checked the program files, I've done searches, I've checked the download folder. They're not there. Is there anywhere else I should look? Anyone else have this problem? I've downloaded other programs on this machine before this without any problems.

Nothing is in the Start > All Programs for them?
Read over the setup process and note what they say the shortcuts and program will be installed.

If nothing is mentioned, contact support for the programs.

No, they don't show up in All Programs, nor are they in Programs and Features accessed through the Control Panel. But they're somewhere because when I try to reinstall Inkscape I get the dialogue box asking me if I want to remove or repair it, not install it. (And yes, I tried repair too.)
