Cant find "My Documents" on hard drive placed into enclosure...

Hello everyone,

Not super tech savvy so I had a couple questions...

I took the hard drive out of my "old" laptop (3yrs old) put it into a hard drive enclosure and now have it hooked up to my new computer...I can open the drive just fine, but where are is the "My Documents" folder & all its contents? Can't find anything...Thanks...

Q2: Thought I'd ask while I'm at it, anyone know if I can turn off "double tapping" in windows 8? I don't see it in the mouse device options within the control panel...

Usually under Users, <user name> then the documents, music, pics are in there, assuming the hard drive is showing up.

First, download ClassicShell ( http://www.classicshell.net/ ) then use computer as if it's Windows 7 and before. This will help you find things and edit settings (like with your mouse) if you've used previous versions of Windows. Also, there is a "Windows 8" forum in the "Software" part of Tom's Hardware forums, just so you know.

If you are running XP, it's under <drive_letter:>\Documents and Settings\<user>.
