Hi there Noleson,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. 🙁
Is the drive recognized as having its full capacity in BIOS?

Apart from that, you will need to check out your MOBO's model and go to the manufacturer's website. Then, you can update all the drivers, especially the SATA ones.
In case the issue persists, you can boot up Ubuntu from a CD or a flash drive, partition and format the drive, switch back to Win and see if the drive is recognized. Thread on Ubuntu Live CD: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode

Let me know how this goes,

It does not show up in disk management even after you refresh/rescan? Sometimes that is manually needed in order for it to detect. If you open the case and put your hand under the drive, can you feel it spinning? Maybe assuring that the cables are firmly plugged in and trying different cables/ports.
