I've just done a factory install on my PC but cannot go online as I don't have a network adapter driver, and I can't go on line to find one and don't know what it is . How can i identify which driver I need and then download it onto my laptop?
If you don't know, go into the device manager, right-click unknown hardware, properties, details, hardware id.
Stick these in google to get an idea of who made it and what it is.
Someone at work told me it's on the motherboard, so I'm guessing I just need to download the drivers, to my laptop,
for myGigabyte board and I'll be ready to go (?) yes
No, it's probably a separate adapter connected to the motherboard inside the laptop. But, the drivers should be on the laptop's website. You should tell us the make and model of the laptop.

Aha, that I don't know. It's the PC that's the problem, not the laptop, and I bought it as a Motherboard bundle. But when I first used it, installing my own windows 7, it had all the drivers installed, so I when I did factory install I was expecting the same. Anyway, i'll get those details tomorrow. And I came across CPU Z so I think I'll be able to work it out now
