This may have been answered before but none of the answers I've found so far have fully answered my question.
I'm trying to set a static IP address (which i have done before without any problems), but when querying my network with ipconfig /all in cmd, my DNS server is showing the same address as my default gateway and DHCP server.
I've found that this is a common problem for other people on the internet, and one that is usually solved by setting your own DNS server from your computers network options. However, when i try to set my DNS server to the suggested address's (88.88.88.88/88.88.44.44) i lose my internet connection, and windows troubleshooter sets my server settings back to default in order to fix it.
If anyone can shed some light on where my problem lies i would be very grateful.
