I'm having some serious problems with RealTek to the point of pulling my hair out. I bought a pc recently and installed all the drivers, and everything was fine for a while, I had access to the audio manager from RealTek and everything. Then out of the blue, I notice that the program is no longer there.

Every single problem that people complain about RealTek on the internet? I had them at one point or another in the last week in my 156235 attempts of fixing this:

  • Almost every time after installing RealTek and restarting the PC, it shows up as RealTek(R) Audio on the Windows bar, instead of Realtek High Definition Audio. And NO audio manager.
  • Sometimes it actually shows up as Realtek High Definition Audio but still no audio manager ANYWHERE.
  • Other rare times the audio manager does show on control panel, but no matter how many times I click on it, it simply does not open.
  • Other times realtek installs fine and I can open the program, but the advanced options to mix sound are not there.
  • Sometimes installation goes on a loop. I install RealTek, it tells me to restart, then installation starts again automatically, tells me to restart, and so on.
Solutions that I tried:

  • To potentially fix the issue of Windows turning it into RealTek(R) Audio, I tried this. Still happens.
  • Uninstalled it via Device Manager, tried updating it, etc. as well as via control panel (when it decides to show up).
  • Tried different versions from RealTek's website as well as my motherboard's website. Still same issues.
I just want to be able to mess around with the sound settings on the audio manager, something that I have been doing even on my old PC.

Motherboard is B450M DS3H and I have a RX 580.
I've seen some people say that it simply doesn't work with some motherboards but I already used audio manager on this PC, so it's obvious it should work. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but it's hilariously sad that I'm having ALL the problems with this thing. lool

I don't know what else to do. If anyone can help me figure this out, I will name my first child after you!!

Update: Not even the audio console app is working. It says it it doesn't support this machine?

I tried that and pretty much all of what people suggest on the internet. Nothing worked and then I even started having some actual audio issues where the sound simply did not work.

But it's fixed now. I'm going to post here the only solution that helped me, in case someone comes across this thread and is having the same problem:

which version of win 10 are you on? Did you make a new installer?

right click start
choose run...
type winver and press enter
current version is 2004

the last reply makes me think you on an older version of win 10, might explain the drivers not working as well?

if you not on 2004, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

Yes, I have version 2004. I used a new and clean install of Windows when I bought the PC. Like I said, Realtek was working fine for a while. It started to go wonky after a few months, but I'm not sure when and why it happened.
