can't find search box windows 10 start up menu :(

not an expert or comfortable using the registry so please tell me how to get / find the search box for windows 10 for start menu etc.I just upgraded yesterday & did whatever updates that needed to be done & still nothing.Thank you

Just open the start menu and start typing - it'll search whatever you type.

There's no visual search box anymore. Just open your start menu either by clicking the start button or pressing the Windows key. Either way, just start typing once the start menu opens and it'll start a search for you.

There's no need to right click it, you can just open the start menu and start typing.

Just click the Windows icon or press the Windows key and start typing...

Also, to the right of the Start button should be a magnifying glass icon that will also bring up the search box.

Depends on settings. It could be either a magnifying glass, a Cortana icon, or a search bar. It could also be hidden entirely if it's set up that way.

thank you........ I found it,but it doesn't stay in sight like the old version,not sure I like to hunt & peck for something that should be a .

You can make it stay on taskbar, right click anywhere on taskbar and select search or cortana (depending on region) and then select show search box.

If you have chosen to use small icons on the taskbar, you won't get this option. To change icon size, right click taskbar, select properties and unclick Use small taskbar buttons
