Can't find the power slots for my GPU

Hello, I bought a new graphics card (RTX 2080 XLR8) to replace my old graphics card (GTX 970).
When I connected it to the same PCI-e slot on my motherboard and connect the power, everything turns on but my screen stays black.
I swapped the old one back in and everything works fine, just not with the new graphics card.

The GPU only has a 6-pin connection, so I thought the rest would be powered from the motherboard. But it seems to either be a bad card or more likely I'm a potato and I can't find out how to properly give my GPU power.

I normally don't post on forums, but I've been trying to do research on why this isn't working so any help is very appreciative.

Here are my specs for this.
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
GPU: GeForce RTX 2080 (XLR8 Gaming)
Power Supply: 800W Jupiter Power

I attached pictures of the GPU to the original post, there isn't a 8 pin connector that I can see
