Can't find wireless printer after upgrade to W10

Hello everyone,

I've upgraded my mother's laptop to W10 from W7, and since doing so, the computer cannot find our printer - a Canon PIXMA MP630 (plugged directly into my father's computer and shared via wireless), whereas before, the printer could be used via wireless with no troubles.

I've ran the printer troubleshooter, I've updated the printer drivers, I've installed all of the printer's software via the installation CD, I've tried manually installing the printer, and I've even tried plugging the printer directly into my mother's laptop, which works, but then stops working after disconnecting and trying to find it via wireless again.

I've got no clue how to find this printer via wireless. The only thing I noticed on my father's computer, was that when I went to the HomeGroup settings, it says that "Dad-PC" (my father's computer name) has created a homegroup, and I need to enter the password for it to join. The problem is that when I go to show the password, it tells me to go to "Dad-PC"s computer to get the password. So it's acting like there is another "Dad-PC" in our network. I've tried to show the password via all the other computers in our house, and the same results show.

Any ideas if this homegroup issue is what's causing the printer problem, even though I could connect via wireless BEFORE upgrading to W10?

Kind regards,

Jimmy.

Well, a few things.
1. The printer isn't really wireless, it's a Bluetooth printer, so to connect to it wirelessly, your computer needs to have bluetooth.
2. The homegroup is most likely why you can longer connect to the printer. Here's how to get the password.
3. The printer isn't Windows 10 "compatible," but it's windows 8.1 compatible so it "should" still work, here's the windows 8 drivers.

4. If your computer is bluetooth compatible, you may not have the windows 10 drivers for them. Check your motherboard model's support page for bluetooth drivers.
5. The Printer CD is useless, it's outdated.
6. You may need to recreate the homegroup and readd all the computers to it. You'll want to do it on the windows 10 PC. Windows...

After hours of trying to remove a homegroup that no one in my house created, I finally succeeded and made a new one, and now the printer works great! Thank you :)
