I am using a usb wifi card right now (TP-LINK® AC600 Dual Band Wireless Wi-Fi USB Adapter) and it is extremely inconsistent so I am trying to upgrade to a built in wifi card but it will not fit.
I have a AMD 760G motherboard and my graphics card is blocking the pci and pci-e slots. Any suggestions?

The benefit of a USB adapter is so you can put it at the end of a 15' long extension cable and thereby move it around to get the best signal. You could even put something metal behind it to directly aim it at the router.

The slot-mounted cards will still have the antenna stuck behind the PC next to where you already know the USB one has bad signal strength. You don't want to extend the antenna because even inches of cable at those frequencies seriously attenuates the signal!

buy a pcie riser cable

Ok that makes sense but I'm not 100% sure it's simply bad signal. When the usb adapter works, it works great. I get fine download/upload speeds and ping but it is inconsistent. After using wifi for about 45 it starts to slow down. If I unplug it and wait a few minutes then plug it back in it usually works ok again. Also I have it on the top of my PC right now so i can unplug and plug it in easily. I used to have in the back and I didn't notice any difference. Overheating maybe?
