hi ive just recently built my system and everything is running fine but ive come to fit my new graphics card which is a asus cerberus 1050ti into my rog strix b350-f and it doesnt seem to go anywhere but they both say that they support. im starting to think PCIe isnt the same as PCI express 🙁. could anyone throw me some advice incase im doing anything wrong also if they know of any graphics cards around the same spec and price range that would fit.

thanks

no i cant get it to fit in any of the positions im not sure if i have brought the wrong one or not.

all of the notches on the pci ports are in the same place but my mother board says it supports PCIe 2 and PCIe 3

Hi

The only time you would have problems with fitting a GTX 1050TI into a modern desktop PC is if you had a low profile case and purchased a standard height graphics card.

The user manual pointed out to you by t53186 shows you have 3 x 16 lane PCI-e slots (e means express)

you usually use the one nearest to the CPU first

Is the problem with the layout of the case?
if so tell us what make & model case

It should fit in the top large pcie connector, make sure you have e removed two of the expansion slots on the back of your case and that the bottom edge of the card bracket isn't hitting the edge of the motherboard. You may have to loosen the motherboard screws and move your motherboard over slightly to allow the bracket to fit between the mobo and case.

I have managed to get my graphics card down the side and into position but I’m about 50mm short it seems to be the gap between the notches is the length of the entire pci port

well the other issue i have is it sits too far away from the back of the case when i do get the notches to line up im guessing that my case isnt right for the card.

how do i take these out without damaging anything

The case is a standard form factor so no problems there, the case expansion slots are removed by undoing the screw at the top and just taking them out ( keep the screws they are used for securing the graphics card). By the looks of it you need to remove the second and third one. Also take out any of the plastic/silicon dust covers from the DVI connector ( the big connector port on the gpu bracket) as that may be fouling the case.
