Hey guys,
So i am getting BSOD on start-up with some games. Call of Duty Ghosts and Sniper V3. Although ONLY when i run in crossfire. When i run both cards solo, in either slot, OR disable crossfire, the game works just fine. I have re-installed the drivers quite a few times, but maybe i missed something?? I have a 700w power supply with an FX-8350. Running 64-Bit windows 8.1

I have run stress tests, as well as 3d Mark Advanced. Both of those things can run and run and run with no fail. SO i am not convinced that the cards are faulty. I still think its something else. I have crossfire running with other games and it works just fine, probably because the games arent graphic intense and need to use the 2nd card. (dota 2, smite, bioshock)

Im pretty stumped here guys!

EDIT: Its not really a BSOD per say. Its just an instant BLUE screen with Sniper. However, for CoD sometimes i can actually get into a game, it doesnt freeze up in the memus, only when im in an actual game for a few minutes. Although, its extremely choppy and unplayable.

are ou doing full clean driver uninstall/removals before installing the new version?

I'd say you need to full wipe all radeon drivers. install the latest certified so you have a fresh start.

then google 'disable ULPS in registry'

my guess is are your second card is spinning up, you're having a driver related crash.

used to happen all the time in certain games on my 7950 crossfire setup

My uninstall consists of just the regular control panel add remove programs. restart, then install them, the last time i did this i had a single card in, (thats what XFX said to do) Is there any other uninstall/install things i can try.

Could be the PSU. It has a weak 12v rails(closer to a 600w PSU than a 700w), doesn't handle crossload well, has poor voltage regulation, and ripple. All of this is leading me to believe that the PSU could be causing a stability issue. The original HALE82 series was made by Seasonic and were great units, but the V2s are made by Sirtec and they tend to made poor to mediocre quality units. However something like this would usually show up in more places than a couple of games. Try wiping the drivers as lowriderflow suggested.

I dont think its the PSU, i can run 3d Mark and stress test, and it completes just fine, which is only throwing me off more as to why some games arent working, but i cant seem to find any other threads about these two games having crossfire issues, so im also confused there.
