Question Can't format DVD +RW 4.7 data disk

Always when I try and get the philips disk ready to put data on it says windows can't format them leaving the disks useless.

Thanks for all your help it is so much appreciated as I have tried the disks in 3 laptops now and get the same from all machines

Do you really want to use -RW media?

I haven't burn DVDs recently, but I recall that some media (despite the label from known brands) just does not work on certain burners. Try burning regular DVD-R / DVD+R media.

What software are you using to burn the data on the DVD?

You can try ImgBurn which is freeware from here. I have used it with no problems to write data or images to disk or make images of disks I have. It would also tell you whether you can use those DVDs with your DVD Writer or not.
