Can't get 144Hz on ultra

Games like BF1/BF4 are not running @ 144Hz
Just built a PC and cant seem to get 144hz on ultra settings for the games mentioned above.
Specs:
GTX 1080
i7 - 7700k
16 GB RAM
Z270-A Pro

on 27 in acer predator
any idea why?

You should be getting around 100 FPS. Even with a 1080p monitor, you would hardly reach 144 FPS on that game.

Oh okay, thanks so much I'm still very new to this. I'm experiencing very weird stutter when I make fine adjustemnts on my mouse ( such as aiming down sniper sites ) so I thought it had to do with that. Any idea as to why I'm experiencing this "stutter" that I never noticed on PS4 in BF1?

No, i'm sorry, i really don't. Your PC hardware is top notch, at least what you listed above. Normally a console is far less powerful than a PC, at least compared to your PC, so games on consoles generelly have lower settings, lower graphics, which may make it more difficult to have stutter. If you reduce the settings to something below "ultra", do you still get those stutters?

Yes it still does it even in medium settings, I'm starting to think it's the actual mouse.
