Can't get 1Gbps link speed with Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller

I am trying to get 1Gbps link speed (currently on 100Mbps). My router is downstairs so I am using a TP Link Wifi Extender. It is plugged into my PCs Ethernet port, it is paired with another extender downstairs that is plugged into the router. Both cables are Cat5e. The Wifi extender is capped to 600Mbps. Does this mean that I should be getting 600Mbps link speed? Or is that simply not possible (hence why I am stuck at 100Mbps). My motherboard is P8H61-MX R2.0, and I have a Virgin Hub 3.0 router. Auto Disable Gigabit, Energy Efficient Ethernet, Green Ethernet are all disabled. Speed&Duplex is 1.0Gbps Full Duplex.

Solution
Wired ethernet will only have a link speed of 10/100/1000 Mbit. You didn't list the model of the TP-Link. Do you know that it is 1Gb wired?
