Cant get a Netgear switch to work with TP Link Homeplug

Hi
I would like to plug a network switch into the home-plug, so I can take multiple devices off it. Unfortunately, this is not working any longer. My Netgear switch (FS105) is not allowing me to connect to the internet, i get limited connection erros from multiple pc's and operating systems.

Is there any way I can fix this? Doing something with Ip addresses or something? It is really annyoing!!

I suspect the switch is trying to root my internet connection upstairs. It is trying to broadcast internet to the home plug, rather than receiving it. Therefore trying to send an internet connection to the router. Anyway, hope you can help.

what do you mean by home-plug?

if you plug the network cable instate of the switch directly into a computer do you internet?

Port 5 is the uplink that your homeplug should be connect to, if its an older model, it may have a button to switch modes.
