Cant get accurate temps on AMD X4 860k

Right im trying to get average temp readings on the CPU

but core temp says it averages at 15°C on Idle
Open Hardware Monitor is 20°C on Idle
HW Monitor says its on 80°C on Idle
The BIOS says its on 65°C on idle
And AMD System monitor doesn't even work just closes instantly

my PC specs are
AMD X4 860k
be quiet! Pure Rock Slim 35.1 CFM CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3HP Micro ATX
XFX Radeon RX 460 2GB Video Card
BitFenix Neos

Im just trying to find out the average temps when its under load to make sure its safe

That's normal for AMD. My FX-8350 shows 12-15°C for the CPU temp and 30°C for the CPU socket temp at idle.
My old PhenomII was more accurate.
But 65°C in the BIOS at idle is too high.

65c in the bios is concerning, assuming that is right it is way too hot. I would guess your cooler isn't mounted properly to see temps like that.

Yup! Remount your CPU cooler. You will shorten its life running at those temps.

So i cleaned off the old thermal paste and put some new stuff on and i re mounted the cooler and i'm still getting the same temps as before


Never mind i mounted the CPU cooler again i used a bit more thermal paste and my temps dropped to 30

Everything except AMD Overdrive will give nonsense readings on AMD FM2/2+ CPUs.
