Can't get audio to work on PC

Hey guys. So I just bought my first gaming Pc from my microcenter. Im pretty much still a noob to pc's so I dont know a whole lot about them.
My pc is a prebuilt but I had to install Windows 10 and the Windows 10 drivers. I followed all the instructions and am sure I installed them all correctly.
I can not get the sound to work on it though. I dont have speakers yet so I was using headphones but the sound wont even work through the headphones.
It's says all the drivers are up to date.
I've watched several YouTube videos and such and can not figure out.
Do I need to install a different driver to use for headphones?
Im so new to this so I'm completely lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Headphones are USB or classic 3.5mm with 3 contacts ? USB ones need drivers.

I got it somewhat figured it out. I dont have speakers yet so i use my headphones. When i plug the headphones into the headphone jack in the front of the tower only the right ear works but when i plug them into the back of the tower both ears work.
So the sound works. I just need to buy speakers i think.

Only one, i think. They are just regular Philips earbuds. They have no microphone. Since they are just earbuds i think thats why they may be having problems?
My solution is to get a good set of speakers and gaming headphones.
