Cant get audio with xbox 360/lcd monitor connection

Ok so I know they're have been a ton a posts about this problem. (I hope I am in the right area.)

Anywho i have my vga hooked up to my xbox just fine. the picture is amazing i couldnt ask for anything better, however; the audio doesn't work. I went out and bought a splitter/Y adapter every audio plug fits into every hole fine. thing is, i still have no audio. ive tried to plug the splitter into every audio port on my comp. and speakers.

Does anyone have some light to shed on the issue?

not sure if this helps but the "line-in" port where i was told to plug the jack into says "currently unavailable" i dont know how to make this work
