Can't get BenQ XL2420T set at 120Hz

I have a BenQ XL2420T and an ASUS R9 280X. I am using a Dual Link DVI cable and it is plugged into the correct DVI-D port on the graphic card. Whenever I attempt to change the refresh rate in my Window's settings, the monitor goes blank for about 10 seconds, then when it comes back on, it shows 120Hz but when I hit apply, it reverts to 60Hz. When I try to change it on CCC, the screen also goes blank for about 10 seconds, when it comes back on, it's automatically reverted to 60Hz. I don't know what to do anymore. All my drivers are up to date too. Please help!

are you using DVI-D to DVI-D or DVI-D to HDMI?

try having the cable seated in the other DVI-D output on the graphics card, also try getting the monitor running at 120hz through control panel, and not CCC.

that would be right click on desktop/properties/settings/advanced/monitor/refresh rate

my graphics card has one DVI-D and one DVI-I connector. and i've tried changing refresh rates in both windows settings and CCC. both don't work.

sounds like a problem with the card's BIOS. did you contact the manufacturer? or look on the manufacturer's site for a BIOS fix or read through it's forums?

the gpu tweak supposed to scan for BIOS updates.
