Question Can't get computer to post after replacing CPU.

I am currently attempting my first PC build. I'm using a Gigabyte B450M DS3H Rev 1.1. I plan to use a Ryzen 5800x with it, but picked up a 2200G since I knew I'd have to update the BIOS. I can't remember what version my mobo came with, but I successfully flashed it to version 65, the newest (first version that supports the 5800x is 61).

After changing out the CPU, we get nothing. Fans turn on, motherboard lights up, but no display. Tried running it with one stick of RAM, taking out the CMOS battery. We have no idea how to get any sort of error code from the motherboard (beep codes, LED lights, etc). Putting back in the 2200G works just fine. Dude we got the CPU from promises it was working, pins are all in place.

How do I get my CPU to work?

EDIT: All we have plugged in right now is CPU and RAM btw. RAM is this.

you will need a dedicated GPU and plug the monitor to it. The 5800x doesn´t have an integrated GPU, so the motherboard´s video ports are not going to work with it.

I should be able to get to BIOS without a GPU though, no?

No, because if you don't have a GPU, there's nothing to drive *any* display.

No, you're not. We just sort of take for granted that a CPU will have on board graphics. Sometimes it bites us when it doesn't.
