So I am in the process of rebuilding my computer (new CPU, motherboard, and case). I set the motherboard (Z97 PC Mate) to Windows 8 mode since I am running Windows 8 and the hard drive wouldn't load so I turned that option off and then the computer wouldn't even POST. It just gave me a white flashing underscore and I was forced to turn off the power from the PSU because the power button didn't work. I checked the pin connections and everything is connected. I plugged the PSU back in and now nothing turns on. There isn't a button on the motherboard to turn it on. What did I break?

probably nothing. reset the bios like this. unplug the psu from the wall. pull the bios battery, short the bios or cmos jumper, or if there is a bios...

probably nothing. reset the bios like this. unplug the psu from the wall. pull the bios battery, short the bios or cmos jumper, or if there is a bios rest button hit that. put the jumper back in the original position. hit the power button to discharge the capacitors. plug it back in and turn it back on.
