Question Cant get correct refresh rate

Hi there i have an Acer GN246HL Display.

I got it home today and plugged in HDMI , since this is all i have right now, and im aware i can only get 120hz refresh rate , however my pc wont pickup that its a 144hz monitor.

So firstly i tried seeing if windows would allow me to change the refresh rate in the properties and this wasnt successful.

My next step was trying to set a custom refresh rate in the AMD Radeon Settings , however i receive the message "The custom resolution settings are not compatible with this display. Reconfigure your settings and try again." I also found that i couldnt set custom resolutions using CRU (Custom Resolution Utility). Although this is irrelevant. I just cant find any light on the matter and im unsure if my panel is working at high refresh rates as i got a used monitor.

I am not familiar with this area and would appreciate some help with this! Thankyou in advance

so it doesn't give you the 120hz option?

No it does show 120Hz in the monitor info as displayed like below. However it does not display 120 Hz for HDMI

1920 x 1080
H:132KHz V:120 Hz

Video Output

& below that says

1920 x 1080P

H: 67 KHz V: 60 Hz

HDMI Input
