[SOLVED] Can't get D.O.C.P to run at advertised speed

Hi I was originally able to get advertised ram speed by enabling D.O.C.P overclock tuner profile which had DRAM voltage at 1.35V. However, after unplugging PC while running it wont post with these settings. It now runs at 2133Mhz, What profiles should I try as I tried 3400mhz with rest of settings the same. Any advice would be appreciated.

Why in the world would you unplug the PC while it's running?

You need to start by completely resetting the BIOS as follows.

Also, make sure your memory modules are installed in the 2nd and 4th slots. The 2nd slot is two slots over from the CPU and the 4th slot is the one closest to the edge of the motherboard. For your ASUS B550 motherboard ASUS may have switched the locations of the A2 and B2 slots, but they are STILL the second and fourth slots. The only difference would be with of the two slots to use when running only a single DIMM and if your motherboard has the A2 slot closest to the edge of the motherboard, then you want to use THAT slot with a single DIMM.

BIOS Hard Reset procedure

Power off the unit, switch the PSU off and unplug the PSU cord from either the wall or the power supply.

Remove the motherboard CMOS battery for five minutes. In some cases it may be necessary to remove the graphics card to access the CMOS battery.

During that five minutes, press the power button on the case, continuously, for 30 seconds. After the five minutes is up, reinstall the CMOS battery making sure to insert it with the correct side up just as it came out.

If you had to remove the graphics card you can now reinstall it, but remember to reconnect your power cables if there were any attached to it as well as your display cable.

Now, plug the power supply cable back in, switch the PSU back on and power up the system. It should display the POST screen and the options to enter CMOS/BIOS setup. Enter the bios setup program and reconfigure the boot settings for either the Windows boot manager or for legacy systems, the drive your OS is installed on if necessary.

Save settings and exit. If the system will POST and boot then you can move forward from there including going back into the bios and configuring any other custom settings you may need to configure such as Memory XMP, A-XMP or D.O.C.P profile settings, custom fan profile settings or other specific settings you may have previously had configured that were wiped out by resetting the CMOS.

In some cases it may be necessary when you go into the BIOS after a reset, to load the Optimal default or Default values and then save settings, to actually get the hardware tables to reset in the boot manager.

I did the reset however am still limited to 2133Mhz after trying D.O.C.P

How many DIMMs do you have? What slots are they installed in?

Did you go into the BIOS after the hard reset and select the option to load the Optimal default settings, then save and exit the BIOS, then go BACK into the BIOS and enable the DOCP profile? Have you tried manually setting the memory to 3600mhz, with the four main timings set to what your memory kit is advertised as having, and then manually set the voltage to 1.35v?

What is the EXACT memory kit you have? The model, not the "series".

G.Skill Ripjaws model F4-3600C16D-16GVKC, they were in slots 2 and 4. Now I switched them to slots 1 and 3, yet no change. I haven't tried those other recommendations.

Yeah, don't put them in slots 1 and 3. Dual channel motherboards are NOT designed to run DIMMs in those slots unless the two primary slots are already populated.

I just had to set DOCP frequency to 1800Mhz instead of Auto. It's stable now, thanks!

So, that is setting the speed manually, that is not using the DOCP profile. The DOCP profile, when enabled, should automatically set the speed, timings and voltage, but as long as you're good now, then that's all that matters. Good luck.
